Shalom,


Psalm 69 is a psalm of David and also a Messianic psalm. Verses 8-9:


8 I have become a stranger to my brethren, and an alien to my mother's children 9 For zeal for Your house has eaten me up, and the reproaches and insults of those who reproach and insult You have fallen upon me.


We see these things said of Jesus in John 7:5 and John 2:17:


5 For [even] His brothers did not believe in or adhere to or trust in or rely on Him either.


17 And His disciples remembered that it is written [in the Holy Scriptures], Zeal (the fervor of love) for Your house will eat Me up. [I will be consumed with jealousy for the honor of Your house.]


Another verse that applies to Jesus is verse 21:


21 They gave me also gall [poisonous and bitter] for my food (Matthew 27:34), and in my thirst they gave me vinegar (a soured wine) to drink (Matthew 27:48).


The great promise is found in verses 34-36:


34 Let heaven and earth praise Him, the seas and everything that moves in them. 35 For God will save Zion and rebuild the cities of Judah; and [His servants] shall remain and dwell there and have it in their possession; 36 The children of his servants shall inherit it and those who love His name shall dwell in it.


Ultimately, it will not do ANY nation ANY good to come against Israel! God Himself will fight for her! He has in the past and He will continue to do so. Make sure that YOU are on the RIGHT side of that fight! AMEN!


Hebrews 3:7-8:


7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: Today, if you will hear His voice, 8 Do not harden your hearts, as [happened] in the rebellion [of Israel] and their provocation and embitterment [of Me] in the day of testing in the wilderness


Verses 12-13:


12 [Therefore beware] brethren, take care, lest there be in any one of you a wicked, unbelieving heart [which refuses to cleave to, trust in, and rely on Him], leading you to turn away and desert or stand aloof from the living God. 13 But instead warn (admonish, urge, and encourage) one another every day, as long as it is called Today, that none of you may be hardened [into settled rebellion] by the deceitfulness of sin [by the fraudulence, the stratagem, the trickery which the delusive glamour of sin may play on him]. 


Verse 15 also warns against developing a hardened heart! How do we develop a hardened heart? By NOT spending time daily in fellowship with HIM, in study and meditation of His Word, in prayer, and in praise, thanksgiving and worship! We CANNOT just stay in one place in Him! We are either growing every day, or regressing! Make sure that you make HIM your #1 focus each and every day! HE will make everything else in your life SO very much better! AMEN!


We read Isaiah 51-52 today. I found this in the Bible Exposition Commentary: Old Testament concerning these chapters:

A plaque in a friend's office reads: "The world is full of people who want to serve in an advisory capacity." But Jesus Christ did not come with good advice: He came with good news, the Good News that sinners can be forgiven and life can become excitingly new. The Gospel is good news to us, but it was "bad news" to the Son of God; for it meant that He would need to come to earth in human form and die on a cross as the sacrifice for the sins of the world.

Jesus was NOT just a "good teacher", or even just a prophet! He was/is God the Son, Who became the Son of God! He came to this earth for the very purpose of dying OUR death, as the price to be paid for OUR sin, so that WE could have HIS life IN us! THAT is the great Good News that we are to be preaching to every creature! Isaiah 52:6-7:


6 Therefore My people shall know what My Name is and what it means; therefore they shall know in that day that I am He Who speaks; behold, I AM! 7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good tidings, who publishes peace, who brings good tidings of good, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, Your God reigns!
