Shalom,

Today I want to look at Proverbs 14:6:

A scoffer seeks Wisdom in vain [for his very attitude blinds and deafens him to it], but knowledge is easy to him who [being teachable] understands.

"Scoffer" here is the Hebrew word "luwts", which means: to talk arrogantly, to mock, to deride. Another definition is "to make mouths at". We KNOW what "making faces at" means. Someone who is scoffing, scorning or mocking is doing the same thing with their words! I know that YOU can see how immature and ignorant THAT is! Don't try to teach an unbeliever the Word of God except for the simple Gospel of Salvation through Jesus Christ. They are UNABLE to understand it until they become born again and have the Spirit of God as their Teacher (1 Corinthians 2:14)! YOU, however, are well able to learn to understand the Word! It is "easy" (see above) when we maintain a teachable attitude! What is a teachable attitude? It is an attitude of mind that realizes that no matter how much we know, there is ALWAYS so much more to learn about the Word of God! How exciting is THAT? Not a dull moment to be found when we immerse ourselves in the Word! HALLELUJAH! So, don't BE a scoffer, try to teach a scoffer, or even spend very much time with one! Just keep pressing into the presence of God yourself and you will cause those around you, believers and unbelievers, to realize that there IS something more than they have been experiencing. They just might come to YOU for the Answer! His Name is JESUS! AMEN! Here is another Christmas song from Hillsong called "Our King Has Come":

Shalom in Him!
