Some of my favorite passages of Scripture are found in today's Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan! Psalm 66:1-4:
1 Make a joyful noise unto God, all the earth; 2 Sing
forth the honor and glory of His name; make His praise glorious! 3 Say
to God, How awesome and fearfully glorious are Your works! Through
the greatness of Your power shall Your enemies submit themselves to You [with
feigned and reluctant obedience]. 4 All the earth shall bow down to You
and sing [praises] to You; they shall praise Your name in song. Selah [pause,
and calmly think of that]!
Verse 2 says to make His praise 'glorious'. This is the Hebrew word "kabod", which means: splendor, copiousness, which includes reverence, honor and abundance! That tell me that we should be praising Him MORE than ever before and that it should be demonstrative! Show Him off! Amen! And then we have Mark 16:15-18:
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover
These were the final instructions that JESUS gave to His disciples in Mark! And what happened when they obeyed these instructions? Verse 20:
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the
Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
Hallelujah! HE confirms HIS WORD that WE SPEAK! SO, let's be about our Father's business and give HIM something to work with! Here is Hillsong with "Children of the Light":
