Psalm 2:1-3 is a perfect picture of the world as we know it today!
1 Why do the nations assemble with commotion [uproar and confusion of voices], and why do the people imagine (meditate upon and devise) an empty scheme? 2 The kings of the earth take their places; the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and His Anointed One (the Messiah, the Christ). They say, 3 Let us break Their bands [of restraint] asunder and cast Their cords [of control] from us.
There are so many in the world today trying with everything within them to change our nation, and the world, into an 'anything goes' free for all! Do you remember that Ecclesiastes 1:9 says this :
9 The thing that has been—it is what will be again, and that which has been done is that which will be done again; and there is nothing new under the sun.
This is nothing new! The world system, run by the enemy, has ALWAYS sought to lead people away from the God of the Bible and His mighty Word! Remember always that when it APPEARS that the enemy is winning, LOOK UP! Our God WILL NOT LOSE! He has plans in place that non one even knows about! Individual plans for each and every member of His FAMILY! THAT would be each one of US! AMEN! Have confidence in the God of the Bible! He has not lost a battle yet. And He is NOT about to start now! AMEN! How does HE react to those first three verses and what is being done in them? Verses 4-9:
4 He Who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord has them in derision [and in supreme contempt He mocks them]. 5 He speaks to them in His deep anger and troubles (terrifies and confounds) them in His displeasure and fury, saying, 6 Yet have I anointed (installed and placed) My King [firmly] on My holy hill of Zion. 7 I will declare the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, You are My Son; this day [I declare] I have begotten You. 8 Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations as Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession. 9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like potters’ ware.
HE has given the SON (JESUS) ALL authority in Heaven, Earth and under the Earth! And HE (JESUS) has given HIS authority for US to use IN HIS NAME! One of my very favorite quotes comes from our precious partner in ministry, Jerry O'Dell!
"When we want what God wants, for the same reason that HE wants it, WE CANNOT FAIL!"
Our job is to get in line with God's plans and purposes for the lost and BE the LIGHT! AMEN! Verses 10-12 of Psalm 2 are instructions to US!
10 Now therefore, O you kings, act wisely; be instructed and warned, O you rulers of the earth. 11 Serve the Lord with reverent awe and worshipful fear; rejoice and be in high spirits with trembling [lest you displease Him]. 12 Kiss the Son [pay homage to Him in purity], lest He be angry and you perish in the way, for soon shall His wrath be kindled. O blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are all those who seek refuge and put their trust in Him!
Let's continue to seek our refuge in HIM and be about our Father's business! When we do that, we won't have time to even hear the lies, innuendos, accusations or temptations of the enemy! Let's give him the 'cold shoulder' and turn a 'deaf ear' to him! Let's listen intently and purposefully to the daily instructions of Holy Spirit as He leads, guides and directs us into and through obedience to the Word and the fulfillment of all of the promises of God! After all, HE has declared all of those promises to be 'YES" and "AMEN" in Him (2 Corinthians 1:20)! HALLELUJAH! Here is Hillsong with "Say The Word":
