Proverbs 4-5 tells us this:
4 Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me. 5 I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.
One of the most important Truths that a born again believer should know is that we are NOT our own anymore! We were bought with a very high price! Our Father gave His ONLY Son so that He could gain MANY sons (male and female)! JESUS paid the price required for our freedom from the devil and we CAN operate at a very high level, with our citizenship being in Heaven, IF we stay vitally connected to Him through prayer, praise & worship, study & meditation of His Word and intimate fellowship WITH Him! THEN we can do those things that He has called us, anointed us and appointed us to do! But, as the last of verse 5 tells us plainly, without Him we can do NOTHING! It is HIS ability in us, by HIS SPIRIT Who lives in us, that we have available to use. We must stop relying on the finite abilities of our flesh and fully rely on HIS infinite Wisdom, knowledge and ability! Through HIM, we can do ANYTHING (Philippians 4:13 AMP)! AMEN!
