Merry Christmas Eve! We read Proverbs 25 in our Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan for today. I have always loved verses 2-3!
2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing, but the glory of kings is to search out a thing. 3 As the heavens for height and the earth for depth, so the hearts and minds of kings are unsearchable.
God gets glory by concealing, or hiding, the precious TRUTHS of His Word, not FROM us, but FOR us! Who is it hidden from? From the enemy and those who have not yet received JESUS as Lord and personal Saviour. It is also hidden from those believers who are not following on to know the LORD! We call them 'unbelieving believers'! They CANNOT believe the promises of the Word of God because they have never bothered to dig into the Word to find them, as for precious treasure! (now THAT parable makes more sense, doesn't it!) Just as God gets glory from hiding the Word FOR us, WE get His Glory available to us when we dig in and find the precious treasures hidden there! Verse 3 above says that the hearts of kings is unsearchable. This means that, beginning with the King of kings, we will NEVER get to the end of all the Wisdom that is hidden IN HIM! But, the really good news is, we have all of eternity to keep trying! AMEN!Here is Hillsong with "Your Word":
