Shalom,

Yesterday we looked at John 15 to see the importance of studying the Word of God. Today I want to build on that by sharing our Spoken Word Church website devotional.
Consistent Bible reading will be the most difficult habit you will ever establish in your life. The reason: It is the #1 key to your power. Set up a specific time for daily study of God's Word.
Establish a method of study. As a believer, spend the majority of your time in the epistles. The epistles are letters written specifically to believers.
"Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." (Psalms 119:11)
"Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness." (Psalms 119:40)
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15)
Now if you will spend time meditating on each of these Scripture references, Holy Spirit will have something to work with in opening your eyes to the TRUTH of the Word! It is only by acting on the Word that we can truly 'own' it! Look at different translations. Speak about the verses with others. speak them again and again to yourself, listening for Holy Spirit's input! Remember, YOU are God's sheep and HIS sheep HEAR HIS VOICE (John 10:27)! AMEN! Let's look at 2 Timothy 2:15 from the Amplified Bible, for an example!

Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved, a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth.

It is God's desire that we become knowledgeable of His Word, and proficient in presenting the Word to others! THEIR eternity depends on US doing OUR jobs! AMEN! Here is Hillsong with "Say The Word":

Shalom in Him!
