I have really loved Kenneth E. Hagin's "Faith Food" from the first time I went through it in the early 1980s. Little daily 'nuggets' of TRUTH that opened up the Word of God to someone who never knew a single thing about the Bible growing up! Today's 'nugget' is very important for our ability to walk steadfastly in faith, never wavering!
More Than Enough
And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies..." (Josh. 10:13).
We see El Shaddai with Israel in Canaan's land. (And incidentally, Canaan is not a type of Heaven. It couldn't be. In Heaven there won't be battles to fight, cities to take, or enemies or giants to overcome - they're here in this world. No, Canaan is a type of the baptism of the Holy Spirit and our rights and privileges in Christ Jesus.)
When Israel ran into difficulty in Canaan, Joshua, their leader, spoke to the Lord. And God stopped the whole universe because a man of God prayed! God can do that - He's the God who is more than enough!
All through the Old Testament, we see El Shaddai moving in the lives of men and women, prophets, priests, and kings. But He's not just the God of yesterday; He's the God of now! He didn't identify Himself as "the God who was more than enough," or "the God who will be more than enough."
Too often we relegate everything back to the past, saying, "Oh, it was wonderful back when God did such things," or to the future, saying, "When we all get to Heaven, everything will be wonderful." No, things will be different here and now if you will trust in this God who is more than enough!
Confession: I believe God. I trust in God now. He is more than enough today! He is more than enough to overcome any situation I could face. He is more than enough for me.
Remember, Hebrews 11 begins with "NOW FAITH IS"! We could say "Faith is now" and be completely accurate! Faith is the necessary 'substance' of something have not yet seen in the natural, but we HAVE 'seen' by the eyes of faith because the Word of God says so! Mediate on whatever it is that YOU need from the Word of God's perspective until it becomes MORE real to you than anything that you can see, hear, taste, touch or smell! When you do that, then you WILL see the manifestation! Don't relegate God's promises to the future in eternity. We will NOT 'need' things then, we need them NOW!
