Matthew 21:12-13 tells us this:
12 And Jesus went into the temple (whole temple enclosure) and drove out all who bought and sold in the sacred place, and He turned over the four-footed tables of the money changers and the chairs of those who sold doves. 13 He said to them, The Scripture says, My house shall be called a house of prayer; but you have made it a den of robbers. Have YOU heard people use this particular incident to try and convince you or others that Jesus does NOT want people to prosper or to be in business? That is SO far from the Truth and has absolutely NOTHING whatsoever to do with this incident! What Jesus said in verse 13 explains His mindset about this! They COULD have set up their various "business" operations any other place! They chose to do this, for convenience and greed's sake, in the very center of what SHOULD have been a place to gather together to speak to each other about the things of God! THIS area should have been used to fellowship about the things of God and the Word of God, preparing the people to enter into the Temple! Look what happened immediately after the "cleansing"! Verse 14:
14 And the blind and the lame came to Him in the porches and courts of the temple, and He cured them.
THAT kind of "business", the Father's "business", brought glory to God! AMEN! Don't ever apologize for doing the works and the Word of God! Here is Hillsong with "Children of the Light", because that IS who we are and what we are to be doing! HALLELUJAH!
Shalom in Him!
