Psalm 61 has a familiar theme! David is calling out to the LORD during a time of testing and trial. Verse 1:


1 HEAR MY cry, O God; listen to my prayer.


Then David encourages himself in the LORD by reminding himself how the LORD delivered him in the past. Verse 3:


3 For You have been a shelter and a refuge for me, a strong tower against the adversary.


He ends with praise in verse 8:


8 So will I sing praise to Your Name forever, paying my vows day by day.


David's method works! The next time YOU face temptation, testing and trials, follow David's formula for getting yourself into a place of faith, trust, and confidence that the God Who delivered you before, will most certainly do it again! AMEN!


Mark 11:23 says this:


23 Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him.


What are we to believe here? We are to believe that when WE speak, things happen! That is exactly what Jesus did when He ministered here on the earth, and that is what He is expecting His body to do NOW! In order for us to believe that what WE speak will happen, we have to get a better understanding of who we are, IN HIM! We no longer operate on our own or by our own strength! We HAVE the Spirit of Almighty God living IN US! The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, AND the ONE Who operated through Jesus when He performed all of the signs, wonders, and miracles that He did, lives IN US (Romans 8:11)! EXPECT to look like, sound like, and get the same results as, JESUS of NAZARETH! That is certainly what HE is expecting from us! AMEN!


Isaiah 35:1-2:


1 THE WILDERNESS and the dry land shall be glad the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the rose and the autumn crocus. 2 It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice with joy and singing. the glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the excellency of [Mount] Carmel and [the plain] of Sharon. They shall see the glory of the LORD, the majesty and splendor and excellency of our God.


Isaiah uses the example of these three places, which were some of the most beautiful and fruitful places in all of the land at that time, to show what the very desert will look like when Jesus returns! Here are two pictures. One is of Mount Carmel, taken during out Israel trip last year. The other is of the plain of Sharon.

Now THIS is what the desert will look like! The nation of Israel has already made much progress in reclaiming the desert, but the fullness will come with Messiah Jesus! Isaiah 36 begins to speak of the time of king Hezekiah. We will look at that more tomorrow!
