I know that Proverbs 31 seems to be speaking about women, but I believe that it should be applied to ALL believers! Verse 10 should be the goal for all born again young men in a wife, but also for the women in looking for a husband!
10A capable, intelligent, and virtuous woman--who is he who can find her? She is far more precious than jewels and her value is far above rubies or pearls.
Verses 30-31 would also be appropriate for both to consider.
30Charm and grace are deceptive, and beauty is vain [because it is not lasting], but a woman who reverently and worshipfully fears the Lord, she shall be praised! 31Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates [of the city]!
The "reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord" (Proverbs 9:10) is the beginning of wisdom. If you find someone who fears, reveres and worships the Lord, you have found someone with the potential to operate in great, Godly wisdom! Don't settle for anything less in someone you plan to spend the rest of your life with! AMEN!
Colossians 4:5:
5Behave yourselves wisely [living prudently and with discretion] in your relations with those of the outside world (the non-Christians), making the very most of the time and seizing (buying up) the opportunity.
Remember that God's desire is that NONE should perish, but that all should come to repentance! (2 Peter 3:9) Let's take advantage of EVERY opportunity present the GOOD NEWS to those who have never received Jesus of Nazareth as Lord and personal Saviour! That is the best and most important news we have to share with anyone!
