Shalom,

We looked at Psalm 1 earlier in the year, but I want to look specifically at verse 2:

2But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night.

Do you remember the instructions given in Joshua 1:8? Let's look:

8This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.

If we "meditate", the Hebrew word, "hagah", which means: to utter, to muse, to imagine, to ponder, to murmur, to study, the Word of God, then Joshua promises us that we will deal wisely. This wise dealing will cause us to prosper and have good success in whatever we put our hands to!

For those who would like to think that Mary remained a virgin for the rest of her life, we have Matthew 1:25:

25But he had no union with her as her husband until she had borne her firstborn Son; and he called His name Jesus.

He had no "union" with her UNTIL! That DOES mean that after the birth of Jesus, Mary was no longer a virgin and the children born to her and Joseph are mentioned in other places in the New Testament. Don't try to glorify Mary. She was a blessed vessel, but still just a vessel for the Lord's plan. After that she carried on with her life. She had to be born again just like everyone else after Jesus rose from the dead! She was! She was in the Upper Room and received the infilling of the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in tongues, just like the rest! She gave birth to the baby Jesus and worshiped her risen Lord! Now THAT is a woman of faith!

In 1 Kings 5:17 we see this:

17The king commanded, and they hewed and brought out great, costly stones in order to lay the foundation of the house with dressed stone.

Those stones still stand today! Massive and impressive! How DID they do that? One day we will watch the replay! How exciting to discover something new and exciting in the Word every day!

Shalom in Him!
