Shalom,

Psalm 92:1 says this:

1IT IS a good and delightful thing to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises [with musical accompaniment] to Your name, O Most High,

We've sung this song a lot at the Spoken Word Church! How important IS it to give thanks? Let's look at the word "good" again. It is the Hebrew word, "towb", that we have looked at many times on this blog. It means:
  • good
  • pleasant
  • agreeable
  • excellent
  • rich
  • valuable in estimation
  • appropriate
  • becoming
  • better
  • glad
  • happy
  • prosperous
  • kind
  • right (ethical)
I think giving thanks looks like a GREAT idea for us, don't you? Read the rest of Psalm 92 in the Amplified Bible! It will give you a much richer and clearer idea of the whole Psalm!

Luke 4:1 says this:

1THEN JESUS, full of and controlled by the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led in [by] the [Holy] Spirit

This verse give us the key to the earthly ministry of Jesus of Nazareth! He was "full of AND controlled by" the Holy Spirit. Remember that Jesus never stopped BEING God, but He NEVER operated AS God in His earthly ministry. He operated as a man who was filled with the Holy Spirit, knew and loved the Word of God and fellowshipped continually with the Father! He said that we would be able to do the works that He did and even greater works than He did! See John 14:12. BUT, we won't be able to do even the works that He did, let alone the greater works, IF we don't do the same things He did daily! Stay filled with the Spirit daily, spend time meditating on the Word of God DAILY, and spend time in intimate, one-on-one fellowship with Him DAILY! Then watch out world and watch out devil! THAT is when we will be seen as more than conquerors! (Romans 8:37)

In Numbers 27-28 the Lord reminds Moses that he will not be able to enter the promised land because of his sin in striking the rock. Most people I know would have tried to justify themselves, begged for mercy, brought up all that they had done right or felt extremely sorry for themselves. What was Moses' reaction? He thought first of all about the people! He asked the Lord to appoint someone to take his place who would be able to lead THESE people! (You know, those always complaining and getting themselves in trouble people!) The Lord responded by having Moses lay hands on Joshua to ordain him as the new leader. Would the Lord have anointed Joshua Himself, if Moses hadn't asked? I don't know! But I do know that He HAS told us in His Word that we have not sometimes because we have failed to ask! (James 4:2) Don't assume that someone else has already prayed about important things! YOU PRAY! Ask, seek and knock! Decree and proclaim and declare God's Word and His promises over your life, your family, your body, your job, your church, your friends, your ministry and anything and everything that concerns you! Then allow Him to work the details out according to His perfect will and plan and purpose! Look forward to each new day with expectant hope and eager anticipation for what God is going to do TODAY! AMEN!

Shalom in Him!
