Everything I'm going to talk about today is found in 1 Corinthians 2! First we will look at verses 1-2:
1And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.2For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
Paul was not out to seek fame for himself! He didn't come to the people with great swelling words and try to get them to follow him. He came to reveal Jesus to them! He wanted people to know and love Jesus and receive Him as their Lord and personal Saviour. Verses 4-5:
4And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:5That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
Paul wanted them (and us!) to recognize that it was the power of God, revealed through His Word, that would set us free and keep us free! Verses 9-10:
9But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.10But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
Only as we meditate in the Word of God and spend time in intimate fellowship with Him, will we be able to get even a glimpse of all of the good and godly things that He has prepared for us!
We need to always remember that unbelievers need to hear the simple Gospel of Salvation through the precious blood of Jesus of Nazareth. Don't try to teach them the whole counsel of God's Word! They are not even able to understand spiritual things UNTIL they are born again. The moment they receive Jesus as Lord and personal Saviour, they receive the Holy Spirit, Who will live inside of them and teach them God's Word! THEN and ONLY THEN will they be able to understand where we're coming from! It takes the Holy Spirit, living inside of our born again human spirits, to bring understanding of spiritual things to us! Stick with it, you'll be glad you did!
Shalom in Him!
