Shalom,

I have heard people misquote John 8:31-32 many times saying: "The Truth will set you free". THIS is what the verses actually say!
31 So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in My word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples. 32 And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.

There is a diligence in the Word that is required for us to KNOW the TRUTH! And, when we use that diligence consistently, then the TRUTH that set us free will KEEP us free! It's all a matter of CHOICE! In Mark 4:11 from our Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan for today, JESUS said THIS about the Word to His disciples:

11 And He said to them, To you has been entrusted the mystery of the kingdom of God [that is, the secret counsels of God which are hidden from the ungodly]; but for those outside everything becomes a parable,

Then JESUS went on to say this in verses 21-25:
21 And He said to them, Is the lamp brought in to be put under a peck measure or under a bed, and not [to be put] on the lampstand? 22 [Things are hidden temporarily only as a means to revelation.] For there is nothing hidden except to be revealed, nor is anything [temporarily] kept secret except in order that it may be made known. 23 If any man has ears to hear, let him be listening and let him perceive and comprehend. 24 And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you—and more [besides] will be given to you who hear. 25  For to him who has will more be given; and from him who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away [by force],

It is God's desire that we get to KNOW Him! When we draw close in communion and fellowship with Him, then He will be faithful to open His Word to us! That is when we can boldly proclaim Psalm 60:11-12 over our lives, with full expectation of results! AMEN!
11 O give us help against the adversary, for vain (ineffectual and to no purpose) is the help or salvation of man. 12 Through God we shall do valiantly, for He it is Who shall tread down our adversaries.

Here is Hillsong with an older song to help you look up and EXPECT! "This Is How We Overcome"

Shalom in Him!
