Shalom,

Psalm 144:9-10:

9 I will sing a new song to You, O God; upon a harp, an instrument of ten strings, will I offer praises to You. 10 You are He Who gives salvation to kings, Who rescues David His servant from the hurtful sword [of evil].

The word "new" here is the Hebrew word "chadash", which can mean both something brand new that never existed before, or something renewed or made new. As we who are believers in Jesus of Nazareth set our hearts, like David, to sing a new song to HIM, the Holy Spirit will give us new songs in other tongues and in our known languages. It is not necessary to be a musician to sing OUR new song to HIM! It isn't a song that comes out of natural skill and ability, but one given by the Holy Spirit! It also may involve musical instruments. Not out of someone's natural ability, but by the Spirit. I have been in services where the musicians are playing supernaturally, by the Spirit of God. I have also been in services where the musicians are just ad-libbing, which was NOT by the Spirit of God! There is a distinct and noticeable difference! Just allow the Holy Spirit to be the Leader in this and you will be very blessed, energized, and "being filled" with the Spirit of God! AMEN! And the reason we do this is the same reason David did, because the One, True God is our SALVATION (deliverance in every area of life)! Here is the Hillsong song called "For Your Name" that mentions singing a new song!

In John 4:34-36 Jesus said this to His disciples:

34 Jesus said to them, My food (nourishment) is to do the will (pleasure) of Him Who sent Me and to accomplish and completely finish His work. 35 Do you not say, It is still four months until harvest time comes? Look! I tell you, raise your eyes and observe the fields and see how they are already white for harvesting. 36 Already the reaper is getting his wages [he who does the cutting now has his reward], for he is gathering fruit (crop) unto life eternal, so that he who does the planting and he who does the reaping may rejoice together.

If that was the message to the disciples of Jesus then, it is so much more urgent NOW! The most important mission of any of our lives is to BE the WITNESS for HIS free gift of eternal Salvation! We are ALL given the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18) - telling the portion of the world that we are responsible for that God isn't holding anything against them! Jesus already paid the price for every sin EXCEPT the sin of rejecting Him! Let them know HOW to become a born again child of the One, True, Most High, Living, Almighty God of the Bible! AMEN!

Have you ever heard the saying "Loose lips sink ships"? We have already seen a couple of examples of that as we're making our way through the Old Testament! Rash statements or declarations that were NOT needed and resulted in problems for the speaker! Saul did it in 1 Samuel 14:24 when he declared that anyone who ate that day would die! He was so very out of touch with the One, True God! Jonathan, on the other hand, was the one used by God too bring deliverance that day! There is a very real reason that we are told to be slow to speak in James 1:19:

19 Understand [this], my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear [a ready listener], slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry.

When we are slow to speak it gives us time to actually listen to and hear the direction of the Holy Spirit so that we can speak "as the oracles of God" (1 Peter 4:11)! Let's BE the difference in our world!

Shalom in Him!
