Shalom,

We want to look at another way that a believer in Jesus Christ can receive healing for their physical bodies. We will be looking at 1 Corinthians:

1 Corinthians 11:23-30 (KJV)
23For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
24And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
26For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
27Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
29For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
30For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
31For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

This is the Apostle Paul speaking. He says that what he is teaching came directly from Jesus! Paul was not there in the Upper Room to know what happened, Jesus Himself revealed to Paul what happened there! He took the bread and the cup and told the disciples what it represented, His shed blood and broken body! Then He said something that we need to be aware of and obedient to today. He said: "this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me." The phrase "do ye" is the Greek word, poieo, which means: to make or to do, to act rightly, to carry out, to execute, to perform, to celebrate, to keep, to institute. Jesus was saying to do this, and as many times or as often as you do it REMEMBER! What are we to remember? We are to remember, always, what He accomplished for us in His death, burial and resurrection! He went on to say that whenever we do this, we "shew the Lord's death till He come". The phrase "ye do shew" is the Greek word, katagello which means: to proclaim, to declare, to preach, to speak of and to teach. Every time we partake of what we call "communion", we are proclaiming and preaching what Jesus accomplished for us. See the earlier blog talking about Isaiah chapter 53 and Psalm 103 and 1 Peter 2:24. He dealt with our physical healing at the very same time that He provided for our eternal salvation from the kingdom of darkness! If we don't remember why we are taking part in "communion" then the Bible says here that we are taking it "unworthily". That is the Greek word, anaxios, which means irreverently. Irreverently means: lacking proper respect or seriousness. These verses tell us that not having proper respect or seriousness about what Jesus accomplished for us is why many believers are weak and sickly (feeble, diseased, weak and sick).

What we should realize from this teaching is that we can and should receive healing for our physical bodies EVERY TIME we partake of "communion" because we are reminding ourselves, again, of all that Jesus accomplished for us. He bought us back from death to life, from satan's dominion into the family of God. And AT THE SAME TIME, He bore our sicknesses, diseases, pains and physical weaknesses on His own body so that we could receive His divine health, wholeness, wellness and fitness. So the next time you partake of the elements of communion, (and you can and should partake often, in your own home and not just at church) REMEMBER His shed blood and broken body provided health and healing for you, and receive it as your own, the same way you received eternal salvation. It is your blood-bought, covenant right as a member of the Body of Christ!

Keep meditating, you'll be walking in divine health before you know it!

Shalom in Him!
