I want to share a couple of verses from Matthew 11 today. First we'll look at verses 25-26:

²⁵At that time Jesus began to say, I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth [and I acknowledge openly and joyfully to Your honor], that You have hidden these things from the wise and clever and learned, and revealed them to babies [to the childish, untaught, and unskilled].²⁶Yes, Father, [I praise You that] such was Your gracious will and good pleasure.

I have always liked this verse because I took it personally! I knew I didn't have to be a Bible scholar or attend a seminary in order to understand the things of God! In fact, it's BETTER if you DON'T start out that way! Every believer has within them the Spirit of God to teach us about Jesus and His Word! Remember this verse in 1 Corinthians 2:14 also! A person could try to study the Bible all day long, but without being born again (of the Spirit) they will NEVER understand the Word:

¹⁴ But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

And then remember to DO this from Matthew 11:29-30:

²⁹Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.³⁰For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good--not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.

He WANTS us to really know Him intimately, and the Holy Spirit is here to do the job! Let's DO it!

We're looking at a couple of verses in Matthew 10 today:

²⁹Are not two little sparrows sold for a penny? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father's leave (consent) and notice.

³⁰But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

³¹Fear not, then; you are of more value than many sparrows.

I have always loved these verses! We have some idea of how abundant sparrows are in the world, and our Heavenly Father knows when even one of them falls to the ground! And you and I are far more valuable to Him than they are! He is so familiar with us that He has even numbered the hairs on our heads! He knows how many have fallen out of our heads over the course of our entire lifetimes! Let's see, that one is #...... and only HE knows that number! How absolutely AWESOME is our God and Father?! And He cares so much for YOU!!! Hallelujah!

Today I want to look at Matthew 9:1-8:

¹AND JESUS, getting into a boat, crossed to the other side and came to His own town [Capernaum].

²And behold, they brought to Him a man paralyzed and prostrated by illness, lying on a sleeping pad; and when Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralyzed man, Take courage, son; your sins are forgiven and the penalty remitted.

³And behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, This man blasphemes [He claims the rights and prerogatives of God]!

⁴But Jesus, knowing (seeing) their thoughts, said, Why do you think evil and harbor malice in your hearts?

⁵For which is easier: to say, Your sins are forgiven and the penalty remitted, or to say, Get up and walk?

⁶But in order that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins and remit the penalty, He then said to the paralyzed man, Get up! Pick up your sleeping pad and go to your own house.

⁷And he got up and went away to his own house.⁸When the crowds saw it, they were struck with fear and awe; and they recognized God and praised and thanked Him, Who had given such power and authority to men.

They questioned the authority of Jesus to forgive sins, and He proved that by healing the man! By this act Jesus showed the connection between sin and sickness and disease. He also demonstrated the fact that God wants to deal with both! He wants EVERY area of our lives to be free from all the works of the enemy! When you read Isaiah 53 with this in mind, you will see that Jesus took care of the sin issue AND the sickness and disease issue at the same time! Why suffer with sickness and disease when Jesus already paid the price to deliver you from it at the cross? Be FREE! He died for that! And NOW He ever lives to make intercession for us! Praying that we'd "get it"! Dare to believe the Word and receive YOUR healing today!

Our Bible reading for today is from Matthew 8. There are two points about this chapter that are really powerful to me in my walk of faith in God's Word. Verses 2-3 and verses 5-13. We'll look at 2-3 first:

²And behold, a leper came up to Him and, prostrating himself, worshiped Him, saying, Lord, if You are willing, You are able to cleanse me by curing me.³And He reached out His hand and touched him, saying, I am willing; be cleansed by being cured. And instantly his leprosy was cured and cleansed.

That passage should forever answer the question of "if it be Thy will" - IT IS!!! The leper never questioned the ability of Jesus to heal Him, he just wasn't sure about God's will in the matter! That is, until Jesus made it VERY clear - "I AM willing"! Hallelujah, and He still IS! AMEN!

Then verses 5-13:

⁵As Jesus went into Capernaum, a centurion came up to Him, begging Him,⁶And saying, Lord, my servant boy is lying at the house paralyzed and distressed with intense pains.

⁷And Jesus said to him, I will come and restore him.

⁸But the centurion replied to Him, Lord, I am not worthy or fit to have You come under my roof; but only speak the word, and my servant boy will be cured. ⁹For I also am a man subject to authority, with soldiers subject to me. And I say to one, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my slave, Do this, and he does it.

¹⁰When Jesus heard him, He marveled and said to those who followed Him , I tell you truly, I have not found so much faith as this with anyone, even in Israel.¹¹I tell you, many will come from east and west, and will sit at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven,¹²While the sons and heirs of the kingdom will be driven out into the darkness outside, where there will be weeping and grinding of teeth.

¹³Then to the centurion Jesus said, Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed. And the servant boy was restored to health at that very moment.

The centurion understood the power available in the spoken word of ONE in authority! Because he understood how authority worked, he knew that anyone or anything subject to that authority HAD to obey! He knew that sickness and disease HAD to obey Jesus! The other amazing thing is that this was a Roman centurion who had this kind of understanding of how faith worked and the religious leaders, who SHOULD have known, didn't! Don't rely on others to do your believing for you. Sickness, disease, poverty, lack, weakness, infirmity, attacks of darkness ALL must respond to the WORD OF THE LORD, spoken by Him OR HIS OWN! That's us! Start speaking! Settle for nothing less than God's best for your life and your family! AMEN!

I want to look at Psalm 7 today:

¹O LORD my God, in You I take refuge and put my trust; save me from all those who pursue and persecute me, and deliver me,²Lest my foe tear my life [from my body] like a lion, dragging me away while there is none to deliver.

That's the way to start dealing with any and every situation we face! Call on God to deliver you! Then remind yourself of His promises and speak the Word back TO Him:

⁶Arise, O Lord, in Your anger; lift up Yourself against the rage of my enemies; and awake [and stir up] for me the justice and vindication [that] You have commanded.⁷Let the assembly of the peoples be gathered about You, and return on high over them.

Declare Who He is and what you are expecting Him to do, according to His Word:

⁸The Lord judges the people; judge me, O Lord, and do me justice according to my righteousness [my rightness, justice, and right standing with You] and according to the integrity that is in me. ⁹Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the [uncompromisingly] righteous [those upright and in harmony with You]; for You, Who try the hearts and emotions and thinking powers, are a righteous God.¹⁰My defense and shield depend on God, Who saves the upright in heart.¹¹God is a righteous Judge, yes, a God Who is indignant every day.

Then thank Him for the victory and continue to praise Him for Who HE is:

¹⁴Behold, [the wicked man] conceives iniquity and is pregnant with mischief and gives birth to lies.¹⁵He made a pit and hollowed it out and has fallen into the hole which he made [before the trap was completed].¹⁶His mischief shall fall back in return upon his own head, and his violence come down [with the loose dirt] upon his own scalp.¹⁷I will give to the Lord the thanks due to His rightness and justice, and I will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.

THAT is the sure-fire way to get God's results in every area of your life! Hallelujah!

Our Bible Reading Plan for today includes Psalm 5, Matthew 5, and Job 1-2. I want to look at Matthew 5: 19-21 today:

¹⁹Do not gather and heap up and store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust and worm consume and destroy, and where thieves break through and steal.²⁰But gather and heap up and store for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust nor worm consume and destroy, and where thieves do not break through and steal;²¹For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

In these days, when so many people are hurting financially, there are so very many "advisors" trying to tell you how to protect your prosperity. I prefer the Godly counsel found in the Word of God! If we have THIS attitude in our lives, NOTHING can keep us down for long! And here is another promise in verses 31-32:

³¹Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, What are we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear? ³²For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all.³³But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.

Now that's a powerful promise! Put God first and seek to have intimate fellowship with Him, then HE will see to my every need! Hallelujah! Keep meditating - the Word WORKS!!!

I am going through our Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan this year in the Amplified Bible. I like to compare, so I usually read on my computer with my Bible software so I can go back and forth to different versions. I was blessed by Psalm 5:11-12 today:

11But let all those who take refuge and put their trust in You rejoice; let them ever sing and shout for joy, because You make a covering over them and defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You and be in high spirits.¹²For You, Lord, will bless the [uncompromisingly] righteous [him who is upright and in right standing with You]; as with a shield You will surround him with goodwill (pleasure and favor).

You have to remember that if you have received Jesus of Nazareth as Lord and personal Saviour, then you have been MADE the righteousness of God through the precious Blood of Jesus! To be "uncompromisingly righteous" is to refuse to believe anything less than what God Himself says about you! These verses are yours to stand on!

Then I really enjoy reading the Sermon on the Mount from Matthew 5 in the Amplified Bible! Everywhere that the word blessed is used, is expanded to include all the meanings of the word for that particular situation! I LOVE it! Here's a little sample:

⁶Blessed and fortunate and happy and spiritually prosperous (in that state in which the born-again child of God enjoys His favor and salvation) are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God), for they shall be completely satisfied!

⁷Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous--with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy!

⁸Blessed (happy, enviably fortunate, and spiritually prosperous--possessing the happiness produced by the experience of God's favor and especially conditioned by the revelation of His grace, regardless of their outward conditions) are the pure in heart, for they shall see God!

⁹Blessed (enjoying enviable happiness, spiritually prosperous--with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the makers and maintainers of peace, for they shall be called the sons of God!

¹⁰Blessed and happy and enviably fortunate and spiritually prosperous (in the state in which the born-again child of God enjoys and finds satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, regardless of his outward conditions) are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake (for being and doing right), for theirs is the kingdom of heaven!

Such great and exciting promises! Now just be a DOER of God's Word, and ALL of these promises belong to you! Hallelujah!

We read Matthew 4 today in The Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan. I want to call your attention to this passage:

Matthew 4:23-24 (AMP)

And He went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the good news (Gospel) of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every weakness and infirmity among the people.

So the report of Him spread throughout all Syria, and they brought Him all who were sick, those afflicted with various diseases and torments, those under the power of demons, and epileptics, and paralyzed people, and He healed them.

Now these are the things that Jesus did. These are the "works" that Jesus did. Jesus went about preaching and teaching the Gospel, healing the sick and setting people free! Now look at this:

John 14:12 (KJV)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

THIS is what we are supposed to be doing as believers! Not just the pastors and those in pulpit ministries, but every born again believer! Take a look at this verse in the Amplified Bible:

¹²I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.

This is what each of us as believers, in all of the unique and individual situations we find ourselves in each day, are supposed to be doing! Whether we spend our days at work places, schools, home or traveling, we are to be about our Father's business of setting people free! You CAN do it! Jesus said so! Now JUST DO IT! You'll be glad you did!

The Bible Plan for today includes Psalm 3. We'll look at a couple of verses here:

¹LORD, HOW they are increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me.²Many are saying of me, There is no help for him in God. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

That may be what the picture looks like in your life in the natural realm! But the really GOOD news is that our results are NOT based on the natural realm, but on the SUPERnatural realm! The GOD realm! Let's look at the next verse:

³But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

Not that's a powerful promise! The word "glory" is the Hebrew word , kabowd, which means: honor, abundance, riches, splendor, reputation and glory! That sounds like a real "head lifter" to me! And He also promises to be our shield for protection, provision and safety! Sounds like we have it made as believers. We just need to meditate on these Truths until they are real to us, then we can operate in them! Keep meditating and the Word of God will continue coming alive to you!

This post is for yesterday's Bible Plan since I was out of town and not able to post! Psalm 2:1-3:

¹WHY DO the nations assemble with commotion [uproar and confusion of voices], and why do the people imagine (meditate upon and devise) an empty scheme?

²The kings of the earth take their places; the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and His Anointed One (the Messiah, the Christ). They say,

^{³Let us break Their bands [of restraint] asunder and cast Their cords [of control] from us.}

This is a pretty good picture of the nations of our world today! We hear and see that, almost everywhere, even quoting the Bible is being called "hate speech"! The Word of God clearly shows that these things WILL occur in the last of the "last days". Nothing takes God by surprise - He knows the end from the beginning. Yet He still gives everyone the opportunity to get themselves in position to receive His best! His mercy is great and He wants that NONE should perish. He has given fair warning what will happen if the world continues in the way they've been headed:

⁴He Who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord has them in derision [and in supreme contempt He mocks them].

⁵He speaks to them in His deep anger and troubles (terrifies and confounds) them in His displeasure and fury, saying,

⁶Yet have I anointed (installed and placed) My King [firmly] on My holy hill of Zion.

⁷I will declare the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, You are My Son; this day [I declare] I have begotten You.

^{⁸Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations as Your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession.}

^{⁹You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like potters' ware.}

^{¹⁰Now therefore, O you kings, act wisely; be instructed and warned, O you rulers of the earth.}

^{¹¹Serve the Lord with reverent awe and worshipful fear; rejoice and be in high spirits with trembling [lest you displease Him]}

^{^12a Kiss the Son [pay homage to Him in purity], lest He be angry and you perish in the way, for soon shall His wrath be kindled.}

The promise for those who choose rightly is great:

O blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are all those who seek refuge and put their trust in Him!

We are starting off this new year looking each day at a verse or passage of interest from The Spoken Word Bible Reading plan. Today we are going to look a little closer at Psalm 1:1-3:

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. KJV

I really enjoy using word studies to really break down and meditate on what the Bible is actually saying to us today. In this passage of Scripture, the Amplified Bible captures the meaning very well:

Psalm 1:1-3

1 BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather.

2 But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night.

3 And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity]. AMP

It is very clear here that what we do consistently, on a daily basis, will determine the results that we have in our lives and our families! Let's be DOERS of Psalm 1:1-3 and have the kind of results our Heavenly Father so desires for us to have!

We looked at God's will for our prosperity in previous posts. If you've meditated on those verses, then you are ready to learn more about God's financial plan! It's an unfailing plan! The first place we will look is in Leviticus:

Lev 27:30 (KJV)
30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord's: it is holy unto the Lord.

The word "tithe" is the Hebrew word, ma`aser, which means: a tenth or a tenth part. Or we could say 10%. The word "holy" is the Hebrew word, qodesh, which means consecrated, dedicated, separated. It actually means something that is set apart from the world and set apart unto God.

This is how God Himself looks at the tithe, or the first 10% of our income, which actually all comes from Him in the first place! Remember from a previous post that we saw that all of the silver, gold and even the cattle on a 1000 hills all belong to God! In fact, the entire earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof:

1 Cor 10:26 (AMP)
26 For the [whole] earth is the Lord's and everything that is in it.

God Himself owns it all, allows us to be blessed with some of it and only requires that we return 10% of that to Him. He then turns around and uses it to provide for OUR spiritual growth with it! It's an amazing and fool proof plan that we will look at further in our next post. In the meantime, meditate on these verses until you are convinced that the tithe belongs to God. Then you will be in position to learn HOW to properly present your tithe and how to stand on the promises that belong to the tither!

We've been looking at God's economic system and His plan for financial prosperity. Remember that "prosperity" means: the condition of being successful or thriving. That's according to Merriam-Webster online dictionary. We like to say: being in control (as opposed to being under the control of someone else)! We see in this verse that God Himself wants us to prosper:

3 John 2 (KJV)
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

The Amplified Bible says this:

3 John 2 (AMP)
2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers.

It is God's perfect will that we be in control and doing well in every area of our lives. That doesn't mean "rolling in dough" and it doesn't rule it out, either! Don't let anyone keep you from finding out all that God has for you in His Word. And then, when you find it out, don't let anyone or anything keep you from having it and living in it! God is very pleased when His people, who are called by his Name, represent Him well in this lifetime!

We'll look at more of God's Word concerning our finances in the next post. In the meantime, meditate on this verse and allow the Holy Spirit to cause it to become very real to you! Then you'll be ready for the next step!

We're going to look at God's plan for financial prosperity in the next few posts. As believers, we should never be moved by what the economy of our nation looks like, or the economy of the world. God's economy operates on a much higher level! We'll start here:

Matt 6:25-30 (AMP)
25 Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater [in quality] than food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing?
26 Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they?
27 And who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure (cubit) to his stature or to the span of his life? [Ps 39:5-7.]
28 And why should you be anxious about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field and learn thoroughly how they grow; they neither toil nor spin.
29 Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his magnificence (excellence, dignity, and grace) was not arrayed like one of these. [1 Kings 10:4-7.]
30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and green and tomorrow is tossed into the furnace, will He not much more surely clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, What are we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear?
32 For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all.
33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.


Our Heavenly Father does NOT want us worrying like the rest of the world does about all of these things! He wants our faith, trust and confidence to be in HIM! When we do things His way, than we can have confidence that we will have His results! That's what I want! So what are some of His ways? Let's look at this:

Luke 6:38 (KJV)
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Giving is God's nature. Remember that: "God so loved that he gave..."! When we give, we look like Him! Just as important as the giving, though, is the attitude we have when we give:

2 Cor 9:6-7 (AMP)
6 [Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.
7 Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, "prompt to do it") giver [whose heart is in his giving].

That's the attitude we need to have! We give because our Father LOVES giving! We give so that blessings will come to someone! Giving takes our minds off of our own situation and allows God to move!

We'll look more at this in the next post. In the meantime, develop a giving attitude. God will be pleased and you will realize what a blessing it is to meet someone's need! Glory to God!

I want to encourage you as a believer in Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One, not to be moved by the present state of the U.S. economy. God's economy is far different and is based on more real worth! After all, He OWNS it all! Just look here:

Ps 50:10 (KJV)
10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

Hag 2:8 (KJV)
8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts.

He owns it all and he has hidden in His Word the way for us to have every need met and more than enough to help meet the needs of others! In the next few posts we will go over some of these things. In the meantime remember this:

Ps 37:25 (KJV)
25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

The word "forsaken" used here is the Hebrew word, `azab, which means: to leave, to neglect or to leave destitute. What a wonderful promise! And the word, "righteous" is the Hebrew Word, tsaddiyq, which means: justified and vindicated by God! When you received Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour, you were MADE righteous! You now have the right to these promises of God for YOUR life! So encourage yourself in the Lord and His Word! He has great plans for you!

The Scriptures I want to share with you today are from the Book of Psalms. The Psalms (Hebrew : TeHillim=Praises) are a living testimony of God's people as a nation (Israel) and as individuals. They reflect the hardships and struggles of life, and how the people conquered despair through faith in the living God. We find a reference to that concerning David:

1 Sam 30:6 (KJV)
6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.

I believe that David used the Psalms to remind himself of the faithfulness of God to His people and His promises. Today we want to look at :

Ps 103:1-5 (KJV)
1 Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

The Amplified Bible gives a clearer picture of these verses:

Psalm 103[A Psalm] of David.
1 Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul; and all that is [deepest] within me, bless His holy name!2Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul, and forget not [one of] all His benefits--3Who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities, Who heals [each one of] all your diseases,4Who redeems your life from the pit and corruption, Who beautifies, dignifies, and crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercy;5Who satisfies your mouth [your necessity and desire at your personal age and situation] with good so that your youth, renewed, is like the eagle's [strong, overcoming, soaring]!

He IS the God who has done all of these things for you! As you study and meditate on the Word of God, you will begin to realize all that the Lord has provided for you. When that becomes REAL to you, you won't be able to stop the praises from flowing!

By way of explanation, I want to share with you something that a precious sister in the Lord posted on her blog a few months ago:

The meaning of the word "Shalom"By David Silver
The Hebrew word SHALOM is understood around the world to mean peace. But peace is only one small part of the meaning of the word SHALOM. Here in Israel, even though we don't have much in the way of peace, we use the word SHALOM on a daily basis. We use it to greet people with, and we use it to bid farewell to people. However, SHALOM means much more than peace, hello or goodbye.

Strong's Concordance 7965 - Hebrew Shalom ..... A word study in the New King James version for SHALOM says: Completeness, wholeness, health, peace, welfare, safety soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, the absence of agitation or discord.

Shalom comes from the root verb Shalam meaning to be complete, perfect and full. In modern Hebrew the obviously related word Shelem means to pay for, and Shulam means to be fully paid.

Sar SHALOM (Prince of Peace) is one of the descriptive names the Bible uses to indicate the ministry and personality of the Messiah: Isaiah 9:6 - The Son of God is completely perfect in all things.

So in essence, when you speak out the word SHALOM - you are not only proclaiming peace, but all the above meanings of the word over that person - that's a mighty blessing!!!

Remember what the word of God says - "there is life or death in the power of the tongue".

We recently heard someone on a Christian TV program say: "No wonder the Jewish people are so blessed, because every time they say Shalom to one another, they are also allowing the full meaning (see above) of SHALOM to be pronounced over them. He humorously proceeded to say that this greeting word would be much more beneficial to the American people if they greeted each other with SHALOM instead of their usual "Hi" or "Howdy" greeting. As Josie and I adapted to life in Israel, we adapted to the SHALOM habit over the "Hi" habit....As Messianic Jews, we are called to bless you and we take that very seriously, by praying for you and by greeting you with SHALOM. Therefore, from now on, when we or someone says SHALOM to you, you should receive it as a tremendous blessing. And bless them back with a hearty SHALOM!

Numbers 6:24-26: The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up His face upon you and give you SHALOM. In the name of SAR SHALOM - the Prince of Peace.

Today we are going to look at some Scriptures that you can use for yourself or for ministering to others. They concern having assurance of our salvation through Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One and His Anointing! First of all, why do we NEED a Saviour? The Bible says this:

Rom 3:10-12 (KJV)
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

The word "righteous" here is the Greek word, dikaios, which means: innocent, holy, just, meet, upright, virtuous, keeping the commands of God, of him whose way of thinking, feeling, and acting is wholly conformed to the will of God, and who therefore needs no rectification in heart or life. The Word of God tells us that there is NONE righteous! NO, NOT ONE!!! That means that not one of us is good enough on our own to even stand in the presence of our holy God! The Amplified Bible says this:

Rom 3:10-12 (AMP)
10 As it is written, None is righteous, just and truthful and upright and conscientious, no, not one. [Ps 14:3.]
11 No one understands [no one intelligently discerns or comprehends]; no one seeks out God. [Ps 14:2.]
12 All have turned aside; together they have gone wrong and have become unprofitable and worthless; no one does right, not even one!

What is the result of our "lack of righteousness" or in other words, our sin? The Word of God says:

Rom 6:23 (KJV)
23 For the wages of sin is death

The result of sin is death. Not just physical death of our human bodies, but eternal separation from God. But the REALLY good news (the Gospel) is this:

Rom 6:23 (KJV)
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The Amplified bible says:

Rom 6:23 (AMP)
23 For the wages which sin pays is death, but the [bountiful] free gift of God is eternal life through (in union with) Jesus Christ our Lord.

Now that's what I call GOOD NEWS! Do you want to hear some more Good News! Try this:

1 John 5:11-13 (KJV)
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

These things found in the Word of God were written for the purpose of our ASSURANCE of Salvation! THAT YOU MAY KNOW!!! Have you received Jesus of Nazareth as your Lord and personal Saviour? If you answered yes, then you now possess the very nature of God! You HAVE eternal Life. Zoe. Life as God has it in Himself! If you did not answer yes, then is there any reason you can't receive Jesus as YOUR Lord and personal Saviour right now? Do you believe that God the Father sent God the Son to the earth? Do you believe that Jesus died on the cross for you? Do you believe that He rose again? If so, then pray this prayer, believing in your heart and speaking with your mouth (Romans 10:9-10) and you will be saved!

Almighty God, I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus Christ came to this earth, died on the cross for me, was raised from the dead, and is now seated at Your right hand. I accept and receive Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and I invite Him to come into my heart and become Lord over my life. I thank You now Father, for welcoming me into Your family. You are my Father. I am Your child. Jesus is my Lord! Amen.

Now you ARE a child of God! Now you need to get into the Word of God to find out what belongs to you as a member of God's family and what He wants you to do with your life! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We need to keep a grateful, thankful heart at ALL times in order to walk in the fullness of the Word of God and all that He has promised us. The word thankful appears 3 times in the King James translation of the Bible. We will look at those three Scriptures today. First we have:

Rom 1:21 (KJV)
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

One of the results of NOT keeping a grateful, thankful attitude is that we are in danger of becoming like the people mentioned here. In fact, it is even more graphic in the Amplified Bible:

Rom 1:21 (AMP)
21 Because when they knew and recognized Him as God, they did not honor and glorify Him as God or give Him thanks. But instead they became futile and godless in their thinking [with vain imaginings, foolish reasoning, and stupid speculations] and their senseless minds were darkened.

I certainly don't want to end up in that frame of mind! Another verse in the New Testament that mentions the word "thankful" is found in the book of Colossians:

Col 3:15 (KJV)
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

The Amplified Bible is a little more clear in this verse, too:

Col 3:15 (AMP)
15 And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ's] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always].

The word "thankful" here is the Greek word, eucharistos, which means: well favored, grateful, mindful of favors, thankful. If we are "mindful of favors" we will have always in our mind the things that God has done for us. We need to remind ourselves daily of who we are as believers (in Christ, in Him, in Jesus) so that we continually appreciate this blessed life we have and so that we never take for granted the wonderful Giver of that Life! Keeping a thankful heart will also keep our hearts AND minds tender and open to the things of God and help us to be more sensitive to the Holy Spirit as He leads and guides us. This last "thankful" verse, found in Psalms, tells us how to do it:

Ps 100:4 (KJV)
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Again, the Amplified Bible gives us a clearer understanding:

Ps 100:4 (AMP)
4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name!

The word "thankful" here is the Hebrew word, yadah, which means: to use the hand, to revere, to worship with extended hands, intensively, to laud (where we get the word, applaud!), to praise, to give thanks. And the next verse tells us why we should have this attitude and be doing this Word:

Ps 100:5 (AMP)
5 For the Lord is good; His mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations.

BECAUSE He IS good, we should always be in an "attitude of gratitude"! Nothing should be able to get us down or depressed! All we should have to do is to remember where we came from, who we are in Him, why we're here, where we're going when we leave this earth, and what God wants us to be doing right now! Then be about our Father's business! We WILL be most blessed!

I just want to share a few Scriptures concerning finances for those who may be concerned over the current economic situation in this nation:

Ps 37:25-26 KJV
25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.

Remember that the righteous are those who are in right standing with God the Father through the Blood of Jesus Christ. If you have received Jesus of Nazareth as your Lord and personal Saviour, then you ARE righteous! Right now, wherever you are, you ARE righteous. You have the RIGHT to go boldly into the presence of the One, True, Most High, Living, Almighty God of the Bible, the God of Heaven, as though you've never done anything wrong! Hallelujah! What freedom we have in Him! Now you can confess these Scriptures to encourage yourself in the Lord. Don't allow worry, guilt or fear to get a grip in your life. Remember:

2 Tim 1:7 AMP
7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.

Our Heavenly Father wants us to walk totally free from guilt, fear and condemnation. Look to God as your source of supply and have confidence in Him, NOT in the world system of finance. They've already proven that they can't handle the money!

Now that was speaking about our daily provision. If you want to walk in Divine prosperity, you need to be a tither and a giver (over and above the tithe). We'll look at what the Word of God has to say about that subject in our next post. In the meantime, stop worrying and fretting. Remember that the Word of God says:

Matt 6:25-33 AMP
25 Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life greater [in quality] than food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing?
26 Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they?
27 And who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure (cubit) to his stature or to the span of his life? [Ps 39:5-7.]
28 And why should you be anxious about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field and learn thoroughly how they grow; they neither toil nor spin.
29 Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his magnificence (excellence, dignity, and grace) was not arrayed like one of these. [1 Kings 10:4-7.]
30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and green and tomorrow is tossed into the furnace, will He not much more surely clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 Therefore do not worry and be anxious, saying, What are we going to have to eat? or, What are we going to have to drink? or, What are we going to have to wear?
32 For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows well that you need them all.
33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.

Keep seeking Him and put your faith, trust and confidence in His Word and you will ALWAYS come out on top!

I want to share more Scripture with you concerning the recent elections.We talked in the last blog post about praying for our nation. We have to keep in mind, especially when dealing with political subjects which can be very divisive, that THIS is our foundational Truth:

Eph 6:12 KJV
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The Amplified Bible says this:

Eph 6:12 AMP
12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.

We need to keep this in mind when we hear all of the political rhetoric, gossip, mud slinging, etc that occurs during times such as these. Remember that our views should be based on the Word of God. When people don't see or believe what the Word of God says, the Bible tells us that their minds are blinded by the god of this world (system).

2 Cor 4:4 AMP
4 For the god of this world has blinded the unbelievers' minds [that they should not discern the truth], preventing them from seeing the illuminating light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ (the Messiah), Who is the Image and Likeness of God.

So what DO we do? We obey the Word of God and fight the fight we were equipped to fight against the works and workers of darkness described in Eph. 6:12 above. We need to remember that:

2 Cor 10:3-4 AMP
3 For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons.
4 For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds,

We need to use the weapons we have been given by God: the Word of God, the Blood of Jesus, the Name of Jesus and the powerful prayer and intercession in the spirit by the Holy Spirit. When we don't know specifically what to pray or how to pray, then the Holy Spirit comes to our aid and prays God's perfect will.

Stay in the Word every day and filled with the Spirit every day and you will be in a position to fight the right kind of fight with the right kind of weapons! The ones that WORK!!!

I thought I would follow up our last blog post with this verse:

2 Chron 7:14 KJV
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Notice that it says "If my people, which are called by My Name". That makes it very clear who He is referring to. In the Old Covenant, this was directed to the Jewish nation. In the New Covenant, this refers to born again believers in Jesus of Nazareth. If WE will humble ourselves, pray, seek His face on behalf of OUR nation, then He will hear from Heaven, forgive the sins of our nation and heal our land. There is no disputing the fact that the United States of America, in a national sense, has turned from God. This nation was founded by God, and on the Word of God. So much has changed since that time! BUT, we are promised here that if WE obey His Word, then our nation will be spared. It doesn't take the nation to pray, just the believers! The Amplified Bible says this:

2 Chron 7:14 AMP
14 If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.

So we, as believers, need to make Him our #1 priority! We need to seek Him, crave His presence, require time with Him face to face, humbling ourselves (accepting something we may not deserve) to pray and intercede on behalf of the nation. THEN our God will hear our prayer, and our prayer will give Him free course to act! We will see a mighty move of His Spirit in the lives of the people of our nation, from the leaders to the "regular folks"! That will bring the "change" this nation REALLY needs! Glory to God! And don't ever forget:

Prov 21:1 KJV
21 The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

Our job is to pray and God's job is to change or replace the leaders! We've got the easy job, don't you agree! So let's be about our Father's business, trusting Him to take care of the rest!

It's been quite awhile since I lasted posted a study here. I have been seeking the Lord on how to continue. We have so many things that have been covered on this blog that are vital Truths and my concern is that those will be lost to blog archives if I continue to post new ones. I would like to invite everyone to go back and refresh your understanding of the previous posts and I would suggest new viewers to START there! But for today, with the elections so fresh on everyone's mind, I would like to look at this verse of Scripture:

Phil 3:20 AMP
20 But we are citizens of the state (commonwealth, homeland) which is in heaven, and from it also we earnestly and patiently await [the coming of] the Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) [as] Savior,

Those of us who are believers in Jesus (who have received Jesus of Nazareth as Lord and personal Saviour) have a citizenship that supersedes our citizenship of any earthly nation. We are citizens, first and foremost, of Heaven. We have been assigned on this earth as Ambassadors:

2 Cor 5:20 AMP
20 So we are Christ's ambassadors, God making His appeal as it were through us. We [as Christ's personal representatives] beg you for His sake to lay hold of the divine favor [now offered you] and be reconciled to God.

Our #1 priority as believers is to share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those He brings across our paths or those He sends us to! When we are where God wants us to be, doing what God wants us to do, then we qualify to have God's promises of protection, provision, safety, blessing, anointing, equipping, joy, peace, prosperity, abundance, health, healing, wholeness, wellness, fitness and favor manifest in our lives! Now we will have to find out in the Word of God just what these promises are so that we can look for and expect them based on the Word. They are provided, potentially, for all believers:

Eph 1:3 KJV
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

And we also see this promise concerning the Word of God:

2 Tim 3:16-17 AMP
16 Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God's will in thought, purpose, and action),
17 So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.

So don't be discouraged by ANYTHING that happens in this world! Let the Word of God completely change your thinking to understand God's perspective and to eagerly anticipate, and participate in, this last, great move of the Spirit of God before Jesus comes for His church! (That's us!!!)

The Word of God for you for today:

Jer 31:3 (KJV)
3 The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

The Lord (Jehovah) says that HE has loved US with an "everlasting", the Hebrew word, `owlam, which means: time out of mind (past or future), eternity, eternal, perpetual, continuous existence, love. That means that God has ALWAYS, does right now and will FOREVER love you! Time out of mind! We can't really understand that kind of love with our natural mind. We need the Holy Spirit to make that real to us. When we begin to comprehend the magnitude of God's love for us, nothing will ever stop us or hold us back from fulfilling His will for our lives. Get to know Him! You'll be glad you did!

Today we're going to look at three verses from today's Bible reading plan found in Isaiah chapter 53:3-5:

Isa 53:3-5 (KJV)
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

The "He" that these verses are referring to is the Messiah. The One sent to redeem mankind. Jesus, the Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One. We read here that He was "despised", the Hebrew word, bazah, which means: to despise, to disdain, to hold in contempt, to regard with contempt, and rejected of men; a man (He left His glory in Heaven to become a man and live as one of us) of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and "we esteemed him", the Hebrew word, chashab, which means: to think, to esteem, to value, to be mindful of, not. "Surely", the Hebrew word, 'aken, which means: firmly, certainly, truly, indeed (strong, assertive, force), He "hath borne", the Hebrew word, nasa', which means: to lift, to carry, to take away, to carry off, "our griefs", the Hebrew word, choliy, which means: sickness, disease, and "carried", the Hebrew word, cabal, which means: to bear a load, "our sorrows", the Hebrew word, mak'ob, which means: physical and mental pain,: yet we "did esteem" (see chashab above) Him stricken, smitten of God ('Elohiym - the Godhead), and afflicted. We (mankind) thought God was doing this to Jesus because of something Jesus had done. Now we get to the Truth:

But He was "wounded", the Hebrew word, chalal, which means: to wound, to pierce, "for our transgressions", the Hebrew word, pesha', which means: rebellion, sin, trespass, He was bruised "for our iniquities", the Hebrew word, 'avon, which means: fault, sin,: "the chastisement of", the Hebrew word, muwcar, which means: chastening, rebuke, discipline, "our peace", the Hebrew word, shalowm, which means: completeness, soundness, welfare, peace, safety, health, prosperity, tranquility, contentment, was upon Him; and with His stripes "we are healed", the Hebrew word, rapha', which means: to mend, to cure, to heal, to repair, to make whole. This is what Jesus himself provided for us through His death, burial and resurrection! The Amplified Bible makes it very clear:

Isa 53:3-5 (AMP)
3 He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness; and like One from Whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him.
4 Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy]. 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.

Everything that Jesus suffered, He suffered for us and in our place. Everything He went through was for the purpose of providing salvation for "whosoever believeth on Him"! Salvation is the Greek word, soteria, which means: deliverance, safety, preservation, rescue, health. Jesus provided not only eternal Life for our spirits, but health, healing, wellness and fitness for our bodies and peace and well being for our souls as well. Don't let anyone cause you to receive less than all that God has provided for you! Don't listen to the doctrines of men, but believe and receive all that God's Word provides for you! We want to look again today at Scriptures that show how we, as believers, can walk in faith, trust and confidence while the rest of the world is operating in doubt, fear and unbelief. The things happening in the world, from earthquakes to fires to storms to the economy, have many people very upset. Here is how the Word of God says that a believer (one who has received Jesus of Nazareth as their Lord and personal Saviour) should act:

Phil 4:6-7 (KJV)
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

First we start out with the instruction to "be careful", the Greek word, merimnao, which means: to be anxious about, take thought (through the idea of distraction), for nothing; but in "everything", the Greek word, pas, which means: all, any, every, the whole, by "prayer", the Greek word, proseuche, which means: worship, and "supplication", the Greek word, deesis, which means: request, with "thanksgiving", the Greek word, eucharistia, which means: active gratitude, grateful language, "let .. be made known", the Greek word, gnorizo, which means: to make known, declare, give to understand, certify, your requests unto God. The Amplified Bible says it very well:

6 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

And then verse 7 says this: And the "peace", the Greek word, eirene, which means: peace, prosperity, quietness, rest, of God, which "passeth", the Greek word, huperecho, which means: to hold oneself above, to excel, superior, supreme, better, higher, excellency, all understanding "shall keep", the Greek word, phroureo, which means: to be a watcher in advance, to mount guard as a sentinel (post spies at the gates), to hem in , to protect, your hearts (the spirit/soul combination) and "minds", the Greek word, noema, which means: intellect, mind, thought, through Christ Jesus.

What an exciting promise! When we refuse all thoughts of doubt, fear, unbelief, anxiety or worry and, instead, bring our requests, petitions and worship to God, along with our thanksgiving for Who He is and what He has already done in our lives, then His great peace, which our natural minds cannot understand, will act like a guard over our minds to keep those thoughts away! It's a simple command that takes great diligence on our part, but has tremendous rewards! We CAN be worry free, care free! Just do it God's way! God's Word WORKS!
