Today I want to share two things with you from my mediation on our Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan! Psalm 128: A Song of Ascents.:
1 Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is everyone who fears, reveres, and worships the Lord, who walks in His ways and lives according to His commandments. 2 For you shall eat [the fruit] of the labor of your hands; happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) shall you be, and it shall be well with you. 3 Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine in the innermost parts of your house; your children shall be like olive plants round about your table. 4 Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who reverently and worshipfully fears the Lord. 5 May the Lord bless you out of Zion [His sanctuary], and may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life; 6 Yes, may you see your children’s children. Peace be upon Israel!
The Psalms labeled "A Song of Ascents" are believed to be songs that the Jewish people would sing as they made thie way to the Temple in Jerusalem for the Feasts. I love this one as an encouragement even today for those who will be DOERS of the Word of God! Dare to believe that the GOD Who gave Himself for us will hold back nothing of all that He has promised in His Word if WE will simply BELIEVE and RECEIVE! AMEN! And then one of my favorite verses in the New Testament goes right along with these great promises! 2 Corinthians 1:20:20 For as many as are the promises of God, they all find their Yes [answer] in Him [Christ]. For this reason we also utter the Amen (so be it) to God through Him [in His Person and by His agency] to the glory of God.
AMEN! I also love this one from The Passion Translation!
20 For all of God’s promises find their “yes” of fulfillment in him. And as his “yes” and our “amen” ascend to God, we bring him glory!
