Today we have another of the Songs of Ascents in Psalm 130 through our Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan. Verses 3-6:
3 If You, Lord, should keep account of and treat [us according to our] sins, O Lord, who could stand? 4 But there is forgiveness with You [just what man needs], that You may be reverently feared and worshiped. 5 I wait for the Lord, I expectantly wait, and in His word do I hope. 6 I am looking and waiting for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, I say, more than watchmen for the morning.
Under the Old Covenant, God's people had forgiveness of sins through the sacrifice of animals. WE, under our new and better Covenant, have REMISSION of sins through the Blood of JESUS! THEY were offering sacrifices by faith in the COMING Messiah while WE offer the sacrifice of praise for what the Messiah Who has come has done for us! I encourage you to remind yourself daily of the wonders of our new and better Covenant! Find out what REALLY belongs to you as a child of the Living God and speak that over your life, fully expecting that HE will confirm His Word! We also have THIS expectation from today's reading in 2 Corinthians 3:17-18:
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom).18 And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.
We, as we continue in the Word of God and in intimate fellowship with Him by Holy Spirit Who lives in us, are becoming more like JESUS every day! This is a continuation of the Good Work that Holy Spirit began in us at the moment of our New Birth. Here is Hillsong UNITED with "Starts and Ends":
