Today's Mathew 7 from our Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan addresses just as clearly as is possible what the Lord our God thinks about all of the biting, devouring, criticizing and condemning that is going on WITHIN THE CHURCH! Verses 1-5:
Do not judge and criticize and condemn others, so that you may not be judged and criticized and condemned yourselves. 2 For just as you judge and criticize and condemn others, you will be judged and criticized and condemned, and in accordance with the measure you [use to] deal out to others, it will be dealt out again to you. 3 Why do you stare from without at the very small particle that is in your brother’s eye but do not become aware of and consider the beam of timber that is in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, Let me get the tiny particle out of your eye, when there is the beam of timber in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first get the beam of timber out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the tiny particle out of your brother’s eye.
DO NOT!!! JESUS could not have made that any clearer! DO NOT JUDGE!! There is ONE Judge Who judges all and it is NOT YOU! Or ME! WE are called to love each other, pray for each other. encourage each other, exhort each other unto good works! We are NOT to hold ourselves above others and recount all of their faults and failures! THIS is the only instruction that we have concerning this! Galatians 6:1:
Brethren, if any person is overtaken in misconduct or sin of any sort, you who are spiritual [who are responsive to and controlled by the Spirit] should set him right and restore and reinstate him, without any sense of superiority and with all gentleness, keeping an attentive eye on yourself, lest you should be tempted also.
The first sign that YOU are not the 'spiritual one' this is referring to? The 'spiritual one' will NOT WANT to go! They WILL go, in obedience to the LORD JESUS, but they will take no delight in doing so! Let's just get back to the LOVE message and major on that one! After all, 1 Corinthians 13:8 tells us all that LOVE NEVER FAILS!!! AMEN! Here is Hillsong Young and Free with "Let Go":
