1 Peter 5:67 is another favorite portion of Scripture, especially from the Amplified Bible!
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you, 7 Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.
We know from past study that one of the definitions for humble is: accepting something you don't deserve. JESUS humbled HIMSELF to take up the cross. He most certainly did not deserve it, but for LOVE He took it! For YOU and for ME! We, on the other hand, humble ourselves before Him by taking what HE has provided for us, which is FAR better than anything that we deserved without Him! All the while understanding that, as the song goes, 'without You I am nothing'! When we really grasp that there is nothing that we can ever do that can add to what JESUS has already accomplished FOR us, then it will be easier to realize that He left nothing undone, and that WHEN we are obedient to His Word to cast EVERYTHING over on Him, trusting completely in Him to handle it all, THEN we will receive HIS provision and be lifted to that place that brings glory to His Name!
