One of the most exciting verses for a born again believer MUST be 1 John 3:1!
1 See what [an incredible] quality of love the Father has given (shown, bestowed on) us, that we should [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! The reason that the world does not know (recognize, acknowledge) us is that it does not know (recognize, acknowledge) Him.
We are NOT simply "followers" of Jesus, but WE are members of the family of God! WE are heirs of God and joint (equal) heirs with Jesus (Romans 8:17)! Jesus also said THIS about US in John 17:23:
23 I in them and You in Me, in order that they may become one and perfectly united, that the world may know and [definitely] recognize that You sent Me and that You have loved them [even] as You have loved Me. AMP
Train yourself to become increasingly "God-inside minded" so that you are aware ALWAYS that the One, True, Most High, Living, Almighty God of the Bible lives in YOU, by His Spirit, when Jesus is your Lord and Savior! And, as if what we've already looked at isn't wonderful enough, look at THIS from 1 John 3:2-3:
2 Beloved, we are [even here and] now God’s children; it is not yet disclosed (made clear) what we shall be [hereafter], but we know that when He comes and is manifested, we shall [as God’s children] resemble and be like Him, for we shall see Him just as He [really] is. 3 And everyone who has this hope [resting] on Him cleanses (purifies) himself just as He is pure (chaste, undefiled, guiltless).
There is SO MUCH more in store for us in the next life, BUT, let's take full advantage of all that He has given to us to enjoy (John 10:10 AMP) now, in THIS life! Realize that the last part of verse 1 above is also just as true! The world will NOT recognize us or understand anything about who we are "in Him". Don't look to the world for your confirmation, look to the WORD! AMEN! What the world will see when we choose to walk in the fullness of this, is JESUS! and HE will draw all men unto Himself (John 12:32)! THAT is why we're here! AMEN!
