Jesus said this to the scribes and Pharisees that accused His disciples in Matthew 15:7-9:
7 You pretenders (hypocrites)! Admirably and truly did Isaiah prophesy of you when he said: 8 These people draw near Me with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but their hearts hold off and are far away from Me. 9 Uselessly do they worship Me, for they teach as doctrines the commands of men.
There are many people in this world and in this nation who call themselves Christians and yet have never received Jesus of Nazareth as Lord and personal Saviour, which IS the one requisite for becoming a Christian! Have you ever heard this ?"Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than sitting in a garage can make you a car"! Don't assume anyone is a believer, just share the Gospel with everyone you come in contact with. If they are already born again, they will rejoice that someone is sharing the Good News. If they are not, you will have a planted a seed that will NOT return void! Water that seed with prayer and expect the Good News to win them over! Either way, YOUR reward will be applied to your heavenly account based on YOUR obedience to the Word, not theirs!
