Shalom,

Psalm 106:1-2:

PRAISE THE LORD! (Hallelujah!) O give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever! 2 Who can put into words and tell the mighty deeds of the LORD? Or who can show forth all the praise [that is due Him]?

Psalm 106 begins with this praise to the LORD and then speaks of the many sins of the nation of Israel, and God's abundant mercy and compassion toward them! Verses 43-46:

43 Many times did [God] deliver them, but they were rebellious in their counsel and sank low through their iniquity. 44 Nevertheless He regarded their distress when He heard their cry; 45 And He [earnestly] remembered for their sake His covenant and relented their sentence of evil [comforting and easing Himself] according to the abundance of His mercy and loving-kindness [when they cried out to Him]. 46 He also caused [Israel] to find sympathy among those who had carried them away captive.

The psalmist then prays for the people of Israel to return to the land in verse 47:

47 Deliver us; O LORD our God, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to Your holy Name and glory in praising You.

This prayer has been, and is continuing to be, fulfilled! So we can add our praise with the praise of the psalmist and the people of Israel in verse 48:

48 Blessed (affectionately and gratefully praised) be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! And let all the people say, Amen! Praise the LORD! (Hallelujah!)

James 3:1a in the Complete Jewish Bible says this:

1a Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, since you know that we will be judged  more severely.

Brothers here refers to both male and female believers. We should never try to put ourselves into a ministry or calling. God will call whom He chooses, and will anoint and equip the one called with whatever is needed to fulfill the ministry. The problem that some in the ministry have is that we can sometimes confuse the anointing to minster the Word of God with the ability to live it! Anyone who preaches or teaches the Word must take the Word that they preached and meditate on it so that they, too, can obey it! Then we see this in verses 8-10:

8 But the human tongue can be tamed by no man. it  is a restless (undisciplined, irreconcilable) evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless the Lord and Father, and with it we curse men who were made in God's likeness! 10 Out of the same mouth come forth blessing and cursing. These things, my brethren, ought not to be so.

I think that we are all well aware of how very true these verses are! So what CAN we do? The very best way to gain supernatural control over our sometimes wayward tongue is to meditate on the Word of God and pray in the Spirit! meditation involves more than just thinking about the Word. One of the definitions for meditation is to mutter! We need to be studying the Word, speaking the Word, hearing the Word and then acting on the Word. Praying in out heavenly prayer language gets our tongues involved in something good and Godly that out minds cannot interfere with! The Holy Spirit Who lives in us is able to help us control that small but mighty force! When we speak God's Word with that tongue, we change situations and circumstances on this earth! Can you see why then enemy wants us to lose control of it! Don't allow it! Redirect YOUR tongue to speak the wonderful and powerful Word of the Living God! Amen!  Here is "Church On Fire" by Hillsong:

In Jeremiah 35 we see the ancestors of Jonadab who have been obeying the instructions of their forefather for two centuries! The people of Israel sometimes could not obey the instructions of the One, True God from one generation to the next! I saw this in the Bible Exposition Commentary:

The message to the nation was clear. If the command of a mere man, Jonadab, was respected and obeyed by his family for over two centuries, why didn't the people of Israel and Judah obey the command of Almighty God — a command that the prophets had repeated over and over again? If a family tradition was preserved with such dedication, why was the very Law of God treated with such disrespect? Obeying Jonadab's words had only a limited and temporal significance, but disobeying God's Word had eternal consequences!

How often God's people are put to shame by the devotion and discipline of people who don't even know the Lord but who are intensely loyal to their family, their religion, or their personal pursuits. Even people who want nothing to do with the Word of God can be loyal to traditions and man-made codes. If Christians were putting into their spiritual walk the kind of discipline that athletes put into their chosen sport, the church would be pulsating with revival life.

How very true that is! What are YOU going to do about it? You will be amazed at what can be accomplished by God through even ONE person who will obey Him with their whole heart! Will YOU be ONE?

In Jeremiah 36 we see king Jehoiakim having so little respect for the Word of Almighty God that he had it burned! Burning the scroll, or the Bible, does NOTHING to the WORD OF GOD! He was responsible for obeying the Word that he heard and he suffered the exact results that were prophesied about him! Every person ever born has the responsibility to reach out to the Creator. When they do, He will move heaven and earth to reveal Himself to them! Then they are responsible to obey! Pray that the Lord of the Harvest will continue to send out laborers, and then pray that the people will be in a position to receive and obey the Message! That is a prayer that will definitely be answered!

Shalom in Him!
