 Shalom,

We begin the New Year with Psalm 1, Matthew 1 and Genesis 1-2 in our Spoken Word Bible Reading Plan! Today I want tos share all of Psalm 1 with you from both the Amplified Bible and The Passion Translation! In  my meditation I love to do both word studies and translation comparisons. With Holy Spirit as my Teacher, reading other translations adds new ways of looking at the same Truths! Shalom in Him!

1 Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather. 2 But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. 3 And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].

4 Not so the wicked [those disobedient and living without God are not so]. But they are like the chaff [worthless, dead, without substance] which the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the wicked [those disobedient and living without God] shall not stand [justified] in the judgment, nor [sinners in the congregation of the righteous [those who are upright and in right standing with God]. 6 For the Lord knows and is fully acquainted with the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly [those living outside God’s will] shall perish (end in ruin and come to nought). AMPC

1 What delight comes to the one who follows God’s ways!  He won’t walk in step with the wicked,
nor share the sinner’s way,  nor be found sitting in the scorner’s seat.
2 His passion is to remain true to the Word of “I AM,” meditating day and night on the true revelation of light.
3 He will be standing firm like a flourishing tree planted by God’s design, deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruit in every season of life. He is never dry, never fainting, ever blessed, ever prosperous.

4 But how different are the wicked. They are like chaff blown away by the wind.
5 The wicked will not endure the day of judgment, for God will not defend them. Nothing they do will succeed or endure for long, for they have no part with those who walk in truth.
6 But how different it is for the righteous! The Lord embraces their paths as they move forward while the way of the wicked leads only to doom. TPT

Notice the comparison between those who do things God's way and those who choose the way of the world! It is so abundantly clear that God's way is ALWAYS better! It takes a diligent commitment to choose and stay with God's way, but that commitment becomes easier when we are able to see and realize this difference! Make sure that you are fellowshipping with like-minded believers as you make this commitment and you will have the support and encouragement that you will need to keep at it! I pray the 2022 will be a year that you learn more about JESUS and HIS WORD than you ever have before! Here, to encourage you, is Hillsong with an older song called  "Know You More":

Shalom in Him!
